How hard is it to find a cheap used tank!!!!
I can't belive this!!! they are usually a dime a dozen on craigslist these days! I went to call 2 people and they were sold before I could get to pick them up, and they were just listed! I have been watching craigslist like a hawk! I am in desperate need of an el-cheapo used tank for my female kenyi that is holding!
What really ticked me off.... I found one that was for sale, the lady had it listed w/ fish in it (only 3) and she had on there she could "rehome" the fish if need be... well when I asked what they were, she replied african cichlids, so naturally I said I can take those, I have plenty of room for 2 more the other fish was a small pleco, I could put in my bowfront tank. I asked what species they were, kenyi, zebras?? she didn't know, she didn't know ANYTHING ABOUT FISH! in fact she told me that the fish were first come first serve, she didn't care about my pleading just for the fish alone to give them an african cichlid home.... even if she sold the tank to someone else just in case they didn't know anything about cichlids...
She described the pair basicly as a red zebra and a kenyi... exactly the species that I keep...
Anyways... I cannot find a tank... I need one to get it set up, I have a filter w/ cartridges already ready to put on it running on another tank I am going to use the original filter that came w/ my 55g on whatever tank I get (I am only getting a 29-40g tank), to cycle fast... and will put rocks and substrate from the main tank in it (well mix the substrate w/ new)
Why is it when you need one FAST you can't find one?? I even offered to drive straight over there w/ no sleep from work in the morning to get it.... I guess I am going to have to breakdown and buy a new tank...
