The State of Alaska has a new first child! Trig Paxon Van Palin.

This might not be such a monumental occasion to some till you know a little more of the story.

Our Governor, Sarah Palin was at a meeting of several states Governors, and energy leaders, where she was scheduled to give the keynote address.....when her water broke! In typical Sarah fashion, she continued on, giving her 30 minute speech, before excusing herself to get on a plane and fly home to Alaska to have the baby! She just couldn't have him born in TEXAS!

The family released this statement.

"Trig is beautiful and already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed."

This statement says it all......we all are blessed to have leaders with such faith.

Holy talk about getting what you want. Couldn't have her baby in the right state so flew to the right one. Not many women have that option.

Uuuhhhhh.... NOTHING! It is just friendly competition, you guys have taller tales and smaller mountains, and can't have our new first baby!
