Remember all the talking about animal dumping??
Well.. guess what... I have now a just weaned yellow lab female under my house thanks to it! I am so sick of these people dumping animals. The poor little pup even has a hurt foot from being thrown out of a car. She can barely eat food where her teeth are so small. My lab joe is trying to be "mom" to her its so sweet! So we are temp taking her in until we can find her a home. Oh... If I could get a hold of the people that do this crap! not to mention my kids get attached to these little animals then I have to break their hearts when we get rid of them because we can't have a zoo...

Both of our dogs are drop offs.
The things I would like to do to the people who do such things, cannot be typed on a family friendly board.

One of our cats was found on the side of the road(alive haha) and the other was just a stray cat.
So its great that you took her in and are willing to help her. I know that we have taken in numerous cats and even two dogs one time. The dogs were actually lost and we soon found their owners but the cats, we had to find someone to adopt them.
Really terrible what people will do these days.

exactly!! I can't say on here what I would like to do either...
Shes so cute! my 6 year old has fell in love w/ her.. I actually on the way to work was trying to come up w/ ways to afford to get her spayed, and shots so we could keep her... I am actually attached to her too... already! I will post pics... I haven't put any pics of my furry pets on here... my 30lb indoor cat Jinx (she was a trading journal ad), then joe the drop off from christmas, and then "sarah" is what wyatt is calling the pup... he's already named it...
Joes my keeper, I was the one that made my husband keep him... I went out that day when I found him on my step and got him dogfood, bowls, a place to sleep, etc... then I told my husband it was too late.. hes mine!

That's what happened to our current foster, Boschee. He was dumped on a country road. Luckily someone picked him up, he was only 9 weeks old and it was 10 degrees out. I just don't see how people can do it!
Thank heavens for people who are nice enough to take care of these poor animals.
If you are unable to keep it (or want to find it a home before your children get too attached, even though that's hard, they get attached almost instantly) you can always contact a rescue in your area. A lot of them won't charge you the fee for turning in an animal if it's one that was dumped.
And thank you THANK YOU for taking care of the puppy!

Stacy wants a Guinea Pig so we keep an eye out at petfinder.com and a local shelter here had a little guinea pig that was dropped at the door to the shelter in sub-freezing weather. He would have froze to death if someone hadn't been there late and happened to look outside & notice him. It's only $5 to drop a pet off.. life is that cheap and worthless to people.

I can't get over the dropping an animal off thing... what will prob happen? I have got attached to her.. wyatt is attached.. we live on a giant country area w/ cattle in the back feild... so I will find a cheap way to get her spayed.. and keep her.. I always hound my husband into keeping these animals that I want.. shes just too adorable! It reminded me to much of the day I met joe... I was going out to my jeep to get wyatt from school when I found her.. she came out from my house where joe sleeps (he refuses to sleep in his doghouse, so he has a haypile he has made a dogbed out of?? he made her a bed too.. way too cute! she came out whinning at me she was hungry... just like joe did.... she won me over.. she had me at ruff!

Some humane societies offer low cost spaying.. or if they don't, they can often tell you who does. Ours here charges between $5 and $25 dollars, depending on the size of the dog.

Thanks, I will def check that out! I came home this morning and joe (my big dog) had the little one on the porch barking at it, he was scared it would get near the driveway when I was pulling in.. he is taking up for it like a parent.. its so cute! then he let it back out in the yard after I got out of the car.

That's so cute! I'm not sure how close you are to the midwest, but if you are near here I can give you names of places that will do low-cost spays.
