HELP!!!! my tank is all messed up

ok so i bought just regular sand for my 10 gallon tank because the tank was for plants and i thought sand would be better for plants i put the sand in last night and it was really blurry which is what i figured was going to happen but this mornin i looked at it and it was the same i thought it would settle or at leased go away a little bit what is going to happen will it ever go away its just like really brown in the tank you can't see to the other side and the sand was like all purpose sand did i need sepecial sand for an aquarium

Dont worry,my son inlaw put sand in his,and it was murky for a few days ,until he turned his filters up.then it cleared.

ok thanks yea i had the filter running last night but i didn't have the like biobag things in it becauise i was afriad it would mess up the filter but i just put them back in it and thanks for replying so fast hahah usualy i have to wait a day or two for a reply

The sand that I hear recommended is pool filter sand. Where did you get the "all purpose sand"?

Also, did you rinse it out thoroughly? Playsand takes a few hours to clean out before applying to a tank. "all purpose sand" I'd assume is thicker and dirtier than that and would require even more cleaning.

it all settled and it is cristal clear but i have to clean the back side and the aquarium just has plants in it so i didn't clean the sand because i dont plan on putting any fish in it any time soon

I used black sand in my 10g and my 36g tanks and it did the same thing, I thought I was at a loss the first time I used it because it never would settle down, but finally it did.. it did the same in the 36 bowfront too.... it was a pain when it got on the decor when it settled like you are dealing with too....
