soon to be.. new rainbow fish! :-)

I am so excited! Just made the purchase from a breeder and my daughter is coming up friday evening with them for me. They were bought in her town where she lives. I have ordered 4 boesemans and 3 reds. I am so excited about this I can burst! hahah...
I just cant find them around here, and will not shop at Petsmart any more and worry about disease. I tried to get some German Blue Rams for my lil guy.. but they had none available right now.
So wanted all to know about my soon to be new rainbows! Im keeping my fingers crossed that they will be fine for the trip up! yeaaaaa......
ok.. ok.... I will calm down now.. hehehe

Hi Cory thanks I have no luck finding good fish where I live, so this is a great chance for me to get some from out of town. My 55g at some point in the future will be filled with all kinds of rainbows.. and will be a rainbow tank, thats my end plans for it.
I will be sure to take photos over the weekend.

Yea I got lucky finding my angels here at a Petland. They were amazingly Marbles which is what I was looking for. And even more amazing they are a pair. They CONSTANTLY breed. Every 1-2 weeks. Right now I have eggs. So far none have made it past a day of free swimming so this time I am going to take them out once they are free swimming and put them in my empty 30.

How big of a tank does a rainbow need? I have this empty 30G and no idea what to stock with. I was thinking Dwarf Gouramis but then I thought rainbows. From what I think I know they need like 40+?

What are you going to do with you discus once it is a FULL rainbow tank?

Sounds like you got lucky with your Angels.. good for you!
For now my Discus, the one that is in the 55g will stay there, the plans for ALL rainbows is in the future.. for now the rainbows will share the tank.. lol.

ohh about the size of the tank... they get up to six inches so its a good idea to have a larger tank. If you can find them, the dwarf neon rainbows is a good size for the 30g. They are pretty fish too. The Australian rainbow gets to about 4 inches so I assume you can add a few in there too.
