Didn't expect this...

I went out of town this weekend and just got home tonight. This was my first weekend out of town since I set up my tanks, but I really didn't think much about it. I really didn't expect it, but I actually missed my fish. Okay, I know that sounds crazy, but I was really worried about them. It's always a part of my daily ritual to sit in front of each of my tanks and watch my fishies. I don't have a timer for the lights, so I was just thinking of them swimming around in the dark for 3 days. I came back home tonight and they were all fine and doing well, but my husband thinks I am really wierd for worrying about them. Does anyone else miss their fishies when they have to go out of town?

Yea, we missed ours too. They're our pets and missing them, thinking about how they're doing seems only natural.

I am the same way...worried that a tank may crash or a cat may get into one. I don't go too far...especially while we're living in this horrible building.

Yup, I worry about mine too. We spend time away alot in the summer at our up north getaway, and my son takes care of the wet pets. He sends me email to let me know all is well..and if anything goes silly....we come home asap!

Yes, I worry, sit in front of the tanks, and my husband says the same thing. But, I catch him 'walking' by the tanks often and asking (if I don't say anything) how my fish watching went today! He Cares Too Silly man.

Oh yes, they're part of the family! Bo lives on my desk at work, so I miss him every weekend.

Okay, good to hear others feel the same way. Now I can officially tell my hubby that I am NOT crazy. Lol!

I worry about Champion when I stay back late at work, or when I go out at night.. I rush to his tank to say hello once I get through the door. I feel like a negligent mother when I can't home in time to play with him.

I worry about my fish when I'm gone. The first thing I do when I get home is go to the tank to check on everybody.

I don't have cable either because I am not home enough to regularly follow any shows. I guess when you get used to not having it, you don't really even notice what you are missing. This weekend, we watched cable in our hotel and there was NOTHING good on tv. I would have much rather been watching my fishies

I could survive without cable TV, we have tons of DVDs.. but I'd go into tech-withdrawal without internet.
