does anyone have any ideas on how to decorate a tall aquarium because i need tall plants but i can't find anywhere so i need to fill the back a little more

You could look at online stores like www.drfostersmith.com, www.petmountain.com or www.thatpetplace.com for tall artificial plants and I have found some decent looking artificial plants at Petsmart that reach the top of our 30g tall tank.

I had a hard time with my 22g but I found Petsmart to have a good selection for taller plants. You may beable to try and see if you have enough room to build a little terrace towards the back to help the shorter plants fillin that dead space up top. Or maybe even look into those floating plants (both DFS and Petsmart have them - they're nice for backgrounds too).

yep, floating plants are great for filling in the top. Plus, a lot of fish like to sleep in them.

I don't know what other kind of decor you are planning on having in the tank, but I have this fake tree root type decoration in my 40 gallon cichlid tank. I got it at Petsmart and it is really tall. I think that they even have taller ones than mine. I would put some of their large plants that they have in there with it for a really cool effect. In my picture gallery you can take a look at it and see if you like it.

I'll post a picture tonight. I redecorated my tank Saturday from the cleaning and I REALLY like the new look. It's a 39G tall tank, so I'm in the same boat as you. Only thing I want to do is get some more tall plants like I have to put on the opposite of my tree root decoration to fill in the lack of height under the filter.

Here is my tank.

I want to get some more tall plants for the right side (filter side) and also want to get some more to make a larger group on the left side.

I still plan to build a cave and it will go on the right side.

go to Michaels craft store, they have big plants for arrangements

Crafts store plants can have metal wires in them as well as dyes and aren't intended for aquarium use.
