rams or angels

have a 27 gallon tank with 5 buenos aires tetras, 10 neons, 2 blue neon dwarf gouramis and a plecos.....
want to add either 2 rams or 2 angel fish which would go better with the fish I have.....
if rams what breed would be recommended

Angels are cichlids also
The angels and Gourami won't get along very will.
Rams are very sensitive to water conditions and an overcrowded tank is just asking for trouble for them.

thanks so much for the advice, it is brill to have somewhere to go to talk all things fish.....
I have had this tank set up for the last 10 years and I use "RO" water which my LFS are kind enough to supply me with for 2 euros for 30 liters I add three kettles of tap water to this to bring the water to temperature and this also raises the water to a ph of 7 which remains a constant, the nitrate nitrite and ammonia rarerly if ever go above 0ppm ..
One of the things I enjoy about fish keeping is the water testing which means things rarely get out of conrol.
would it still be silly to get the rams even if i am very careful ?

If you do...do extra water changes to keep down the waste.

I have a german blue ram and I love it..If your water conditions are good their colors come out really beautifully.I have angels too..and a goumi and they all get along...but I also have a bigger tank..If you put eith in the tank it will be asking for trouble because of size..but, if you must go with something..I would go with the ram every time.

Hi!

It would be silly to overstock. Why not get a new, bigger tank?

just got my second tank a 55 gallon which I have stocked with tanganyika ciclids because the ph in my area is quite high and I knew it would suit the fish which it has.... they are all very happy and healthy and growing fast... but that means no new tanks for a while !!!! I have to let my wife get use to this one before I mention more tanks to her !!!!!

Honestly and I hate to say it but for the amount of effort that you go through with your current tank I'd recommend not getting any more fish and then possible ruining it with problems.

I think I will leave the rams for the moment sounds like too many potential problems and I would hate to kill the poor fish....
thanks for all the advice there are very few places to go to talk all things fish, am thinking of going marine for my next project so lots more questions to come from me yet!!!!!
