Ok, I am on my 2nd week of cycling and everything seems to be going good except for the cloudiness of the water on the 3rd day. But I will worry about that when the cycling is done. My question today is I have about a 1\8th of inch of bubbles on the top of the water. Dont think this is a bad thing or indication of somthing else other that oxygenated water witch is good. Just dont want to be doing somthing wrong. Thanks for all the help

And have to change my signature. All-glass 150g. 2 Emperor 400s and a 16 inch bendable airstone.

the cloudiness means there is a bloom in benificial baceria, which is good! this will go away during the cycle when the colonies of baceria establish themselves

Do you have any aeration running while you cycle the tank? It sounds like there isn't and a bacterial bloom like that is harmless and common enough with low enough surface disruption.

hmm.. interesting. What are you using to cycle with? What are the current water parameters and temp?

It sounds like some sort of protein buildup, but I don't see how you'd get that using the ammonia. We've never used ammonia to cycle a tank though, so maybe someone who has will have an idea.

Are you able to skim it off? If so, does it just come back the same? Is it any heavier/thicker in any spot?
