Probably moving house

My dad went to look at a house for the second time and I came with him this time to check it out along with my aunt and uncle and my mom's friend for their opinion. They all liked it and I especially like it. Down in the basement there is a cut out in the wall for a fish tank and a room to keep all your stuff in. I didn't have a measuring tape with me but I judged the space to be about the right size for a 55gallon tank. Then outside by the front door there is a pond with fish in it. There's also plenty of room upstairs for more tanks, possibly the 10gallon I'm thinking of buying. And the good news is I think my dad really likes this house. He's already started cleaning our house to sell it and thought about what price to sell it among other things. The house is empty and at a good price now so I will find out soon if he is going to buy it. The last house he liked he waited to long and somebody put a bid in, I don't think he wants to wait too long on this one. It meets most of his requirments and he likes it. Well here's a pic of the cutout in the basement, we would have to finish finishing the basement. Well my sister took more pics of the house, if anybody wants to see them let me know, it's predominantly white wood which my dad doesn't perfer but can live with.

You know, the front pane on 75gal tanks is the same size as 55gal Why limit yourself to 55?

thank you Dino I believe my dad may put a bid on the house soon, he keeps bringing it up. If we get it I might have to do what butterfly does and put guppies in the pond in the summer and let them breed.

Yes the basement is actually really large mudhog. Where we are standing there is a full bathroom, another room, and another room with water heater and there's much more not in the picture.

wow, that's the basement pictured?

Man it's finished well. That could be a full apartment, if it had access to the outside w/o having to go inside the home.

if yall get it, when's the ?

i'd say go with the 75 gal its only 20 more gal... and 2 emporer 400 filters. also just a few more inch of wood to hold the tank up.

Yea it has a full bathroom down there and plenty more space, maybe I'll put those pictures up too. We still have to put in carpet and finish a few things if we move in. It's gona be a lot to carpet so my dad is thinking of putting in cheap carpet, I think it's over 1000sp. feet. The bbq can be in august if we move in, then I can give everybody guppies after they have bred in the pond over the summer

yeah that would be nice but I don't think my dad would go over very well with that idea. right now I'm trying to convince him to let me get a tank to fit in the space, but he's thinking of walling it off and using it for storage

Go ahead, wall it off...with glass, and then wall that glass off with three more sides of glass and one on the bottom! And then, you could fill that with water...hmm, this seems to be going somewhere.

Sounds like you have a coming up

indeed I do, but then I may never be able to clean it, I guess we can put a hole in the ceiling so I can climb into it...

WoW, now why in the world would your Dad buy a house like that, and NOT let you put a fish tank in that hole?

How would you access it for maintenance? I also vote for the 75...

yes he would lol

if you look there is door spot on the left side, we would have to put in a door when we finish finishing the basement and the rest of the room would be where I would put all the equipment and tank. Problem is convincing my dad to let me get a larger tank.

Picking up extra responsibilities around the house usually get's the attention of Fathers. If that doesn't work, try a begging, then a hissy fit as a last resort.

we could all sign a online petition for you to put a tank in that opening.

then you could show him how much support you have. I'm sure we could all come up with some sog story about it would be a good home for some poor fish that are sitting miserable in a pet shop somewhere.

well if he doesnt let you put a 75 gal then doo the 55... its better then nothing and for the storage thing.... who needs storage if your not using then why have it.... im not going to lie have a few things stored away but thats because i dont have time to use it haha.. good luck i'd say let me talk to em you could have a full size fish room and thats were most of the tanks could be and just put a lazy boy in there that swivals around so you can see all sides of the tanks.
