Argggg I can’t decide

Fish lore has become my favorite website. Whenever I am bored (and that is a lot) I go here. It will still be a week before I can set up my new tank and I still don’t know what fish. I have a 6 gal and I know that limits me to like 2 fish. I keep reading on how Betas have so much personality; do other fish have the same? If I got a beta I would keep it alone. But I don’t know if I want only one fish. Ok so what I am asking is do other fish (that I could fit) have the “beta personality” or should I just get a beta and be happy with one fish? (MTS wants to come out. Maybe I will set up another during the summer when I have a job.)

I cant tell you of any other fish that have betta personalities other than an oscar or some ciclids nether of which could fit in your tank so I say buy a betta and you wont regret

I've not found another fish with personality quite like the Bettas, but they all have interesting personalities and I think next to the Betta, our Angel and our Amecas show the most personality. Neither species would work in a 6g unfortunately though.

Ok. I know this is a little off topic but what other fish would do well with a oscar?

Not many -- oscars get to be pretty big (18"), and most other freshwater fish would be food to them. Most folks keep oscars in a species tank, and a rather large one at that.

Peaceful fish that are big.. big enough that they don't look like tasty treats.

So you can put other oscars in with eachother if the tank is big enouf.

well Oscar don't eat other Oscar even if they r small than another this is a personal experience not a fact, They get along with cichlids that r big enough to not fit in there mouth ummm angel fish but full grown and if ur breeding them then its going to hectic because they protect there eggs so if ur breeding one of the two types its a no no. and Iridescent Shark and pleco big ones tho.

I have a my Rupert,he is a fire dwarf gourmi, he has personality.

He plays hide and seek with me!! its funny to watch. He know who I am ans even comes over the end of the tank that is facing my bed EVERY night before the light go out just to see me!

I do not think one would be good in a 6 gallon tank thou.

You can tell they're related to Bettas. Great personality and intelligence.

dude i was gonna say that about my dwarf gourami but i thought people will think im crazy or something his really playful he likes to be hand feed only by me off course and when im on the computer most of the time he comes to the closest corner of the tank to watch me.
But his not at the stage of playing hide and seek.

My Betta on the other hand couldnt give a poo about me lol his very easily amused by going over and under a leaf repeatedly for long amounts of time and that keeps him amused and gets him tired.
