An Amazing Price

At aquabid.com they're selling a 120 gallon aquarium with equipment and 2 oscars and the starting bid is only $1.00!!! The Buy-It-Now price is $600. The only drawback is that it's at NJ.http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/aucti...101&1182095263

Re: An Amazing Price

That's just a typical seller trick. Note that it says right next to that $1.00 price Reserve Price Net Yet Met. That means that the tank won't sell for $1.00 even if you place your bid at that price. It most likely has a reserve of $600 or pretty near that and if you don't bid at least their reserve, you won't win the bid.

Re: An Amazing Price

yea.. sellers do that to make sure they don't have to sell something cheap but starting at $1 saves them some in ebay fees. it would be nice if the reserve price showed, but like luniyn said, it's probably close to the buy-it-now price and i'd not buy from a new seller with no feedback and no pictures of the auction item(s) with something like that. too many people using ebay to scam people.
