Choosing fish for new tank.

New 20 gal. tank is in fishless cycling process using ammonia. Am trying to decide on fish. If I get 1 male and 3 female platys of assorted colors, will they breed.

yes. if you get those fish, all 3 will be pregnant pretty much their whole lives.

You could get males, if you like or if you dont intend on getting any male livebearers then you could get females....

I want to try and raise platys, but didn't know if a red wagtail would breed with a mickey mouse.

I think it's a VERY good chance they would. platys LOVE to breed!

I suggest not too. Sometimes they are already pregnant when you buy them.
