arg!

i have lost 4-7 shrimp! the cunning little buggers managed to climb out my tank and i am sure made a tasty treat for my cats.

how do i make a better seal where the hood does not meet the edge of the tank? i have a very large portion (about 7inches by 1.5inches) where shrimp could escape. i doubt cardboard would be suitable. does anyone have any suggestions

In the kitchen area of your local walmart/target or dollar tree store (best deal if you have one), there should be shelf liner that has tiny holes in it. you can cut that a little bigger than the holes and use the heavy tape for boxes to secure it in place. It works pretty well and this is how we covered the holes on our wild betta tank to prevent any jumping out.

cool.. it was an idea born from getting our mahachai pair sunday and then going "what do we cover the holes with?".. fortunately we had some extra (we put it under the tanks) and used it. Best of luck with your tank and future shrimp.

those are some beautiful fish! do you have any pictures of the pair you got?

that is quite a collection you have going your bettas look healthy and happy.

Thanks. Sweetie is healing up well from an apparent attack and Teddy Bear is a waiting thing with the swim bladder disorder, but they're rescue bettas and hopefully will regain full health. they are happy though and we try to take good care of them all.

How is it going with your shrimp? Any more make a run for the border?
