algea

what is the best way to rid an airated but not filtered 1 gallon tank of algea... snail, pleco, algea eater or what?

If it's a 1 gallon, you don't want to be putting a pleco in there. A snail would probably be best.

If it's one gallon it's easy enough just to manually remove it.

True true. Just scrub it out and that would be really easy. A snail would do the job for you though, plus it would keep it algae free. No getting yucky green slime on you every other day.

Try reducing the amount of light the little tank gets. A live plant will help by competing with the algae for nutrients. One or two SMALL snails should keep it nice and clean. Since it isn't filtered, I wouldn't recommend adding more fish. Good Luck! Guppygranny
