Another question...

has anyone tried those pad things you put under your substrate to control the nitrates, nitrites and ammonia in the tank?

I was thinking about picking one up as my levels are all over the place due to my tank being overstocked

Re: Another question...

I have never heard of what you are talking about, but if you are having problems even with water changes, I'd say go for it.

Re: Another question...

The only problem I can see is having to mess the substrate up every time you change it. Do you have a picture of what your talking about? Thanks

Re: Another question...

Don't have a picture at the moment, as fr messing up the substrate, they apparently last for 3 - 4 months, by wich time I'll have the new tank.

Also, you don't *have* to put them under the substrate, so i guess I could hide it under one of the rocks i have...

Re: Another question...

ahhhh.. I see now. I thought you were going to put it in the new tank as part of the set up. Sorry I mis-understood. Can you put it in your filter?
