Nope can't find anything, sorry, probably mislabeled. If it looked like a catfish shark you can check out planetcatfish for it.

There is such a fish it was metioned on loaches online but only briefly and that was the name in my LFS

Painted is when fish dealers inject the fish with dies to make them a more appealing color. Unfortunatley many of these painted fish die.

yep, more and more fish are being dyed and painted. Now Skunk Loaches are available in multiple colors, so it's not impossible that its been painted or dyed.
