fish changing colour

Hi all and a happy new year to you all hope u all had a great Xmas and new year

i have a sailfin pleco and my other half seems to think its changing colour. when its on the gravel its lighter than when its on the glass or the filter could this clever fish be camouflaging its self I'm not sure let me know what you all think. il be posting some new pics soon as we have added some more fish

I don't know about plecos, because I've never had one, but my Angelfish are pale at night when the lights are off. When the lights are turned on, they gain their color, lol Some of them have some stripes, so they can make their stripes disappear too, even during the day.

Unless you think your pleco's lack of coloration has something to do with a disease, I don't think there's anything to worry about.

Fish change color due to temperature, mood, background color, and too blend in with their surroundings better.
Plecos are well known for doing this.

Dino, my common plecos lips go almost white sometimes, is that also normal?

cheers for that guys good to hear your comments I'm not too worried about it i was just thinking if the missus had finally lost the plot (ha ha i just got a slap for that) or anybody else experienced the same
