At the moment David Coe is my favorite author. He wrote the Lon Tobyn Chronicles and is in the process of writting Winds of the Forelands. I am breathlessly awaiting the next in this series due out on Dec.
I also read Mercedes Lackey, Clive Cussler, Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Andre Norton, Anne McCaffrey and her son Todd McCaffrey, Harry Turtledove, Terry goodkind among others* I guess I read a little of everything.

I really enjoy Joanne Harris's books and i also love factual travel stories written by people like Michael Palin... i always stay up too late because I just cant out books down! :

Me too, I keep saying just one more page My husband has banned Janet Evanovich books from our bed, she is so funny I can't keep from laughing(even with a pillow corner crammed in my mouth)so he can't sleep

A. C. Crispin, David Coe, Andre Norton are my three favs.

A. C. is a dear friend and has written me into the Star Wars Universe as a Rebel medical officer in her novel, "Rebel Dawn". She also mentions me in the dedication of her newest book, "Storms of Destiny".

David Coe is also a dear friend and is currently in Australia!!!

Andre, who passed this summer, was one of the finest people I have ever met. With over 250 books to her credit, in fantasy, history, mystery and science fiction, she was a nation treasure. She was also one of the most awarded writers of the 20th century.

Aside from those authors I consider my friends, I have many who I enjoy their work. Terry Prattchett, Neil Gaiman, Allen Steele, Glen Cook, Jim Butcher, Owl Goingback... As you can see, I read heavily in the fantasy/science fiction/horror areas.
I also read natural history, history ( specificly prehistory, Asian, and military history) and mystery novels.

I finish about 2-3 books a week on average and just passed the 18,000 mark in my personal library.

I am into 3 different authors right now. *They each have series, and it usually ends up that when I run out of the new one in one series the next one is ready. *They are: *Joan Medlicott (The Ladies of Covington Series); *Charlene Ann Baumbich (the Dearest Dorothy series); *Ann B. Ross *(the Miss Julia series).

They are all a real hoot. *I guess I should be glad that there is just me and the fish here so I can make all the noise I want to without disturbing anyone because I cannot get through most pages without either laughing or crying. *They are the kind of books to read you read when you need a good look at how just plain good people live. *So far there are 5 or 6 books in each series aleady. *I buy each one as they come out from Amazon.com because I know I will read them over and over.

Good question! I love to read but have too many authors to name. I'll mention a few really good ones though And don't laugh, I love classics and I don't think one can admire anybody more than the best and most ancient of them all - Plato! LOL I really like philosophy, and astronomy, and ... Well, here are some great authors (in my opinion): like I said - Plato, Carol Sagan, Jonathan Schell, Paul Davies, Richard Fortey, Chris Maser, and of course Jane Austen, Emily Bronte, Charlotte Bronte, Gaston Leroux, and Leo Tolstoy. Plus, Stephen Hawking! I think that's about it for now

There is also this man who writes great books, but he never gives his (or her, for all I know) name! Just "Anonymous" - seriously. He writes political books; one that I read was very interesting and is called "Imperial Hubris" - if you read this book you get a pretty good sense why this guy never gives his name.

I don't have a great collection of aquarium books YET, but just wait and you'll see, lol. Well, so far only one author in this area: Peter Hiscock (Omorrokh recommened one of his books and it was great).

I live to read!!!!!

(unlike most kids my age who watch TV or play video games)

I'll read pretty much anything I can get my hands on. My dad and I often fight over books My favorite books are ones about animals. I like both non-fiction and fantasy adventure stories. I like both classics that are way above my age level and easy series. As long as they have animals in them. I always stay up really late reading, unless I get distracted watching my fish or gerbils, in which case I stay up really late watching my fish or gerbils And if I don't have a book to read, i write my own.

I must be a very strange child. Heck, I don't even own make-up! I hope my parents don't live in perpetual terror about a teenager who they spend more money on for pets than clothing.

Sorry to change the subject! Anyyywayyy...
I like the authors C.S. Lewis, J.R.R.Tolkein, Madeline L'Engle, and a ton of others...I like the series Guardians of Ga'Hoole, Winnie the Horse Gentler, and Heartland...and the novels Watership Down, Fire Bringer, and ten million others...those are just a few.

We also met his son Nick, who writes science fiction.
We also have everything written by Hawking.
