This is a real hoot~

I stopped in at the LFS today to see what he might have in new and it seems that 2 of the Green Terror juvies I sold to him have paired up and have a bunch of wigglers now! Guess I've lost that store as a place to sell my fry for a while!

what kind of set up do you have for the green terrors? I would like to try them or yellow and blue labs

Re: This is a real hoot~

kmsmith90,
I have an 8" male GT in my 55 gallon show tank, a have a breeding pair (3.5" and 3") in a 30 gallon tall with their 2 week old fry, I have 4 juvie females in a 30 tall, 2 juvie females in my 55 gallon with an Oscar and a Turquoise Severum and 4 more that were runts but growing (very very slowly) in a 20 long with a Gold Sev that I'm growing out to go in my show tank.

What are you wanting to do? Do you want to breed them or have one in a showtank with tankmates? They are really very easy to care for. The only thing I've had any trouble with is how much they like to jump (have had a couple of casualities when they find the little bit of uncovered space in the back of the tank and then some sporadic problems with internal parasites.

Is there any other specific information you would like? Let me know, I'll be happy to answer any questions!

Re: This is a real hoot~

I read your first post on the baby GTs and I looked up a pic . Found a beautiful green irridescent pic, are yours that colorful? I wouldn't care to breed or show them. I just like their looks. I want a tank in my home office with a few fish and I want something colorful. Thanks for the info on your tanks.

Are these what you saw?

If you want lots of different colors and in a smaller tank than you would need for American cichlids you should look at some African cichlids. Lots of them stay comparitively small and are very colorful. Just food for thought..........

I have tried to find space for a big tank but it just aint happening. I checked your other idea out and you are right, the mbunas are beautiful and small. How do you pronounce mbunas?
