I'm moving right along with my new divided tank....I'm in the process of cycling (fishless of course) I have a Rena filstar filter on the drilled tank and have a whisper running in each compartment....The whisper is off an established tank and I rotate it from section to section all through the day...I have 2 large peices of seeded filter media in the main tank...

My question is.....I want to run sponge filters in each compartment...They measure 5 1/2 gallons each....There are 5 sections @ 5 1/2 and the main tank that measures 8 gallons...

What size sponges do I need to maintain Bettas? Also what other equipment will I need to run the filters (pump etc.) I'm new at the sponge filters and need all the help I can get......

Thank you Dino.....What size pump would I need to run all 6 areas? I have a profile 4000 air pump would that be sufficient?
