what do you do?

we have 2 yellow tail damsels in our tank....had 3 ...one didnt make it
and now one is just nipping the other to the point the other now hides almost all the time...
her name was ms "hides a lot" anyway...but this nipping behavior by "george" is new...
tank perameters are fine....all is well
what do you do when one starts nipping?
thanks
lee

does it ever stop?
do your "time outs" ( lolol thats just too funny ) make a difference?

we are starting to think about adding more fish and dont know if this is something we need to wait out til "george" chills out a bit.....

do fish ever nip each other to death? Man I would hate to see that happen....

This damsel is usually better kept in groups of 3 or more because they can become very territorial if kept singly. This is probably one of the least aggressive of all the damsels, but can still be aggressive
Aggression can be lessened or spread out if you have 3 to 7
if it continues he could cause infection from nipping or worse case just kill him thats why shawnie moves his tank around as they then have to claim a new territry

Yea, I think you'll need at least 1 more so that you don't have a pecking order with the 1 always being picked on. Seems like a lot of fish species are like that.
