Someone in our subdivision cut a 2" gas line while digging his garden out and now NOBODY can come in to the place. They told 2 or 3 house that they had the leave. The wind in blowing the gas right into one guys house.

They where not letting anyone out and I have work at 3pm so my dad went down and talk to the gas company and he talked the guy into letting me out, but I just might not get back home if they are not done fixing the line by the time I get home, around 10pm.

Man what a day!!!!

Fortunately, Andy was able to get to work on time.

Man, this has just been nothing but trouble all day. Its 6pm now,supper time, and we don't have hot water and I can't use the stove until the utilities company comes around and turns our gas meter back on. They have to go house to house and there's probably 40 houses or so.

What ticks me off the most is that NONE of this had to happen, you're supposed to call before you dig in your yard and someone will come out and mark where all the lines are so you don't hit them. This dude didn't and now everybody else has to deal with the effects of his screw up. *grumble*

I wonder if the gas company is going to seek damages, from the line-breaking guy, for all the hours of work their workers had to put in because of him, and the cost of repairs.

I know that its the LAW here in Indiana that you have to call if you are digging close to where the line would be.

Hubby talked to the guy who was here turning our gas back on and,yup, he is responsible for EVERYTHING,every single dime,including all of the natural gas that poured out of the line for over two hours! I can't imagine how much that alone will be The gas guy said he hopes the neighbor has good homeowners insurance.

Wow.. I hope he had Dingleberry insurance too.. and now he's the most loved person in the neighborhood.

LOL....Dingleberry....thats a good word. Not exactly what I was calling him @ 6pm and we had no stove to cook supper on and had to eat cold sandwiches. I should have ordered a pizza and sent him the bill!!
