This is prob a stupid question but, I have to ask

I was cleaning my tanks the other night and I cut the whole top part of my knuckle on the middle part of my 55g tank. Well I am anemic, so I bleed like crazy. Before I could move my hand I had dropped a bunch of blood in the tank, there shouldn't be any problems w/ the fish should there?
(I know that is prob a stupid question but I need to make sure, I have been scrubing the cut, and using some major antibiotic creams on it, right now at work I have one of those things we cover iv's up w/ on it to protect it)

I can't see that there would be a problem with the fish, just take care of you

I hope you are ok.
I very seriously doubt there would be any problems, but bow to she who makes a living working with blood.

Thanks, I didn't know, I hate to cover cuts up, they usually heal better in the open, but I have had a couple patients w/ some un-mentionable ailments the past couple of days that are serious bloodborne spread bugs, so I have been extra cautious. (of coarse I know that we are around that stuff everyday I am sure that only 1 out of every 10 we come in contact every so often we actually get told about)

Not to mention, it being cuts from the fishtanks.

They aren't piranha so no need to worry.
Hope your cut heals fast.

Any cut can get infected and knowing that you work in a possibly infectious environment you know to keep it covered at work.( We are required to keep any cut or open wound covered at work) But at home you could leave it open and it will heal faster.
I'm sure that the blood was diluted enough that the fish didn't even notice it went into their tank.

I am one of the most paranoid people when it comes to gloves, alcohol rub and handwashing at work plus using those plastic skin things on cuts.
right now I have been on to the hospital about those gloves that go up to your elbows for the high risk patients that we deal with, I hope they listen we had them in Knox where I used to work.

so far the fish have been fine so I am sure they are ok, my husband laughed at me a little when I asked him, he said well as long as you don't have anything wrong with you they will be ok..

Yea, I'd think it wouldn't be a problem with a tank that size. *jaws theme *
