THey look like just plastic cups! And what's harder to believe is that people buy them!

Yeah, I saw that listed before. It's sick. Someone will go on there, and be like, "Oh! I can have 100 bettas!"

That is so sad! And to think I feel guilty that Hughie is only in a 2.5g.

Wow...
To start with, paying for some plastic cups and having them shipped sounds like a pretty dumb thing to do.
And the bettas will end up very mad at whoever tries to keep them in those...

Do they come with 100 servings of hot and sour soup?

To be fair, they do say that these are for raising bettas, not keeping them.
When you breed bettas, there are just too many of them to keep each in a full-sized tank, so most people keep them in jars.

Ok, that makes more sense... but it still seems riddiculous to spend money on a bunch of plastic cups...

one of my LFS, where i rescued Lemon and Ace had the bettas in those, but they had no lid, and were on a shelf by the door of a VERY BUSY STREET. the water had evaporated and Lemon was in about 1 inch of black dirty water.

thank god i brought him home to his lovely blue mini bow

Yeah the *cough* PetSmart near me has about 100 of those stacked up on the end of one their aisles... all filled with half alive bettas, and I do mean filled with bettas because there is only enough water left in most of them to cover the fish and thats it =(
