Okay creative moms/dads/grandparents, I need some suggestions

I got a letter today from Wyatts 1st grade teacher, He was nominated for the fall festival prince, he is the 1st grade canidate. So if the 1st grade rasies the most money he will be the "prince" of the fall festival.
I need some suggestions on fund raisers...
Here is what I have so far:
1.a pet show w/ 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ribbions for cats, dogs, rabbits, etc and then pictures of reptiles, fish animals they cannot transport to the pet show (since I cannot leave fish out). But we will charge an entry fee w/ each animal to raise money, and then have a bake sale at the show.
2. we cannot sell homade goods during school hours however we can buy stuff at walmart and sell them, like popcycles, etc they did that last year and raised a bunch of money.
3. My mother is at her resturant labeling her sweets as half the proceeds go to her grandsons school for the fall festival (I knew she would buy into helping, she gets to brag at the resturant), plus I am going to see if they would let her be the one to cater the fall festivals dinner and donate so much of the money she makes to the school for the 1st grade class (that should make Wyatt a shoe-in)
4. Sending cartoons to school, since I own every full featured cartoon out there on DVD (nemo, over the hedge, etc) and they can charge 1.00 admission, and sell popcorn and juice to the kids (they did this every friday in Oct last year)
5. I have to find a farm that has a bunch of pumpkins to donate to the school, and sell them to the kids to paint for halloween at school (copying the last years ideas that worked)

The princess canidate for 1st grade was the Kindergarden one for last year, and her mother is one of my neighbors, which goes to the same church as us. So luckily I will be able to work closely w/ her.

Do these sound like good ideas, and do you all have anymore?? I have until the first week in November to raise the money for this and all the money we raise buys the computers for the school, and their books. They don't charge the students a book rental fee, or make them buy books where my son goes because of stuff like this so I am going to go all out (I always do for these things)They also got brand new Dell computers this year, they are so up to date, and if you saw how small this school is, its really awesome, the teacher to student ratio is 10:1 w/ a teachers assistant included. Most of these 1st graders are reading and doing math already on a 2nd grade level because of it. I can't brag enough on his school, they are awesome.

Okay, that was off subject, I know car washes for 1st graders is out of the questions, what about donut sales? how do you go about that, and candy bars? stuff like that, or other money makers anything?
btw, no I am not doing any goldfish in a cup at the fall festival (sorry I had to throw that one in there)

I like all your suggestions.
One year when my kids were in elementary school, they did a fund raiser where all the kids made crafts with ideas and supplies donated by the parents and area businesses.
Then the teachers turned around and had a craft sale during parent teacher conference.
What parent could refuse to buy their little darlin's crafts?
I couldn't. lol
I still have 2 tiles with magnets my kids painted hung on my refrigerator from that sale.

As far as donut sales, Krispie Kreme will sell you donuts at a discounted price for fund raising.
I live just outside a small town and we make several hundred dollars in a couple hours by standing at the red light.
Of course, the kids couldn't do this but they could hold up signs and you'd need permission from city hall.

There are also places you can buy candy in bulk to resell at a profit. The name escapes me now, but If I can think of it, I'll edit this post.

Good luck, I hope your little prince does well.

How about a large garage sale? If you find the right location to have it at around here those are always a big money maker.

Your local Wendy's might have a fundraiser night available. It's usually something where every sale of a certain item donates a certain amount of money.

The Chick-Fil-A's in our area do this too. You might also ask your local pizza/burger joint, etc.

Thanks you all!
We have a krispie kreme in Knoxville, so it wouldn't be impossible to get those for a fund raisier

I like that idea for the water balloon thing..I remember back in my high school years our principal let them arrest him, and we had to gather bail money for him as a fund raiser (now that one would be a hoot because personally I don't like our principal, I really like his wife she does sub teaching a lot and I know her pretty well, but he is a duck weed....) He would do it for my husband though, he was my husbands softball coach back in jr high and they are big buddies.

I was waiting on my mom to make the joke that I could charge admission to my "lake malawi aquarium" in my house, she said I have a serious obsession. When she was over the other day her and my grandmother spent 30 min going around to my tanks in ahh saying look here this one is really colorful!! I told them its 5.00 a tank to look.

Anyways, wonder if we could get other people paid to be dunked, like the mayor, the sheriff?? people of the community would pay big money for stuff like that.

Congratulations to your son!

If you sell items at the pet show, don't forget dog treats! If you buy a huge bag of large dog cookies from walmart or costco (or bake your own) you can make some money selling them for something like 50 cents each. With animals at the show owners might buy one for them to eat there. Also offer toys, bandanas, etc.

At one of the events you can offer a raffle. Quilts are good for this if you or the other woman are quilters, or maybe a membership to a local water park or something. If you have a large audience, those $1-2 tickets add up.

Farmers may be willing to donate the slightly deformed pumpkins that they can't sell. and, depending on when you need them by, some stores have displays of straw bales and pumpkins outside that they are willing to give away when they're done with them. (this may not work if you're in a big city, but it does in a little rural town)

The petco employees with bad info... (sorry, couldn't resist!)
