Just looking through Craigslist on Cape Cod and see a new ad for a 100g tank, stand, gravel, statutes, hood and light, filter and heater, AND stocked with fish all for 150.00....! I was all gah gah over this... and when I read the ad to my husband he started to hum very loudly doing his best to drown me out... WAhhhh... he says Noooo way! There is NOOOO room for another tank in the house!
and there is more.. there is a yard sale in the same town tomorrow, where the fish tank is from the ad, it says.. aquarium(s)..... set up and stocked!( I think its the same folks selling the 100g)
Im trying soooooo hard to get my husband to take me there tomorrow...
I dont know if Im going to have any luck convincing him how much i NEED this tank! hahah...
Anyone near by that is looking for a great deal, let me know and I will pass the info to you...

Of course he doesnt know that I have emailed the seller and asked what fish he has hehehe....

Oh, wow! What a great deal! Why do husbands have to be so difficult?!?

If I were in the area I'd just buy it. I'd get some friends to help me bring it home and when he saw it I'd swear "it followed me home" (ala Lucy) and then give him the "you are making me move to Dallas against my will, so don't mess with me" look.

But that's just me..... I'm sure you have different dirt on YOUR husband!

UPDATE:
My husband is actually considering the tank! I am so excited about this. I have emailed the women back to find out what kind of fish she has to go with the tank. My husband is now figuring out where it would go.... m hoping to be able to go and see the tank today. The price is way too good to pass up and I dont want anyone else to grab it before I get the chance!

thank you... I sure hope that I get it too. The women did leave me her telephone number to call, but I would look pretty crazy to be calling this early on a sunday morning lol.... I AM a crazy fish lady! hahah..
Ohh btw, she is not the one that is having the yard sale today advertising the aquariums set up and stocked. Im betting the chances that the yardsale also has a 100g set up are pretty slim. I dont need another 29, and Id rather go bigger than the 55g tank that I have now. I always wanted Oscars in a large tank, and eventually my two Jack Dempseys are going to need a larger tank as well and I can move them to the 55. So I am going to call the women around 8 and hope that is not too early to call.
I will post when I hear something and hopefully we can go and look at it today.

I told my husband, that even if we didnt buy any aquariums at the yardsale, I was very curious to see set ups and fish at any yardsale! And wanted to just take a peek...
But the yard sale is about 35 minutes away, so I dont think he really wants to go just to take a 'peek'. Im very curious myself about what they may have!

btw... I was thinking of you when I saw the ad, and thought I was not going to be able to get it. still keeping my fingers crossed on this one, I know that anyone who was looking.. would know this is a great buy that is too good to pass up. She also has a complete empty and fill system and Im betting that it is the python... nice!
Im very curious to what kind of fish she has.... and if they will be compatible with the JD's I have.. but not going to jump the gun here... Ohh heck.. yes I am! hehehe.. already dreaming on... dreaming on....

dont worry about whats in it...worry about getting it first! things can be worked around the contents for sure....oscars are sooo much fun and would be a great addition

got the phone call... and we went down there asap! you all know the saying... if its too good to be true....? Well.... the 100g tank ends up being a 55g. Uggghhh... lol...
The women who was selling it has no idea about fish. guess the tank belonged to a tenant that left in the night and all his stuff behind.
It had an Koi Angel fish, one serpae tetra, one neon and two fish that I believe were your standard gold fish. the tank & water were filthy, nothing fancy in decorations etc etc
... IF I were looking for a 55g I would have offered her 50 dollars for it. BUT my plans are at least a 75-100 at some point to add Oscars in addition to my two juvi JDs.
If I ended up taking the tank.. it would have ended up being an impulse by. Or if there were some really nice fish in it.. But we walked away. And thats hard for me to do when it comes to tanks and fish lol..
Ohhh wellll... but the good thing is that now I know he is open on the idea of a larger tank sometime down the road. Better off using that cash on bills at this point anyway..
