yay.... cloudy water

okay, so shortly after I posted that question on rock salt for fin rot, the disease struck Mango again. And to make matters worse, his water is cloudy (white) and hazy. I've made 2 water changes in less than a 24 hour pperiod and it will not go away. Everything from replacing a cartridge and cleaning the filter to vacuuming gravel and changing water till only 1/4 of water remains. What do I do?

Oh, by the way, i did add a small amount of garlic juice for the fin rot, and in the past it has never made my water cloudy

Hi TFA, sorry to hear you're having such trouble with your tank. The cloudiness might not be a problem -- it could be a bacteria bloom. Is it cycling?

Here's an article that might help: http://www.fishlore.com/CloudyWater.htm

That article relieved me from alot of worries. I had cycled it already even before I had Dusty. Could it be mini cycling if anything?

what do you have for gravel?? I have a white gravel that no matter how much you rinse/wash it first it still clouds the water for a while.

okay, now theres a surface film. I'm thinking it might have to do with me turning down the filter outflow level which used to be medium. Could it be that.
