Oscar's, Cloudy Water

How can I get the tank water to be clear? These fish are messy and spit back everything they eat. I have 2 Whisper 60 Power Filters running.
Also They are picky eaters, they won't eat the Cichlid Staple mini pellets. When we first got them a couple weeks ago, they seemed starved. They went thru 60 feeder fish before they calmed down. Other readers on this list recommended not feed them feeders, so we haven't since then. I'm using the Cichlid Flakes, Cichlid Jumbo Sticks, and Freeze Dried Meal Worms. We are feeding them in the morning and the evening. What else can I feed them, and am I feeding them enough. The fish are 8 1/2" and 8". One more thing, should I risk putting in a 6" Loach to help clean up the tank?

Thanks

I think you fighting a couple issues...first cloudy water from new tank sydrome....so deffinately read this link as soon as you can...http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm the tank has to get cycled and doing it with fish means daily water changes...and if you can get some prime, that will neutralize the ammonia and nitrites for 24 hours until the next change...id do at least 50% a day...

then you are going to need to upgrade the tank as 2 oscars in a 55 gal (if thats the tank they are in which is in your info) will always have the tank messy unless you continue to do daily changes throughout their life...they are big messy fish for sure

and feeding them some beef heart, fresh shrimp, bloodworms, wax worm, crickets, and pellets should keep them nice n happy...goodluck got any pics?
