I found a
LFS that rocks! It is an old type of pet store of yesteryear. The sales associate, Matt, was REALLY helpful and knowledgeable. I'd posted earlier in the week about my remaining melanochromis auratus cichlid. This pet store is willing to take "Killer" in as trade for 2 / 3 other chiclids that are not aggressive allowing me to have more than one fish in a 45G tank.
Matt spent almost a half hour attempting to fix a Millennium filter that someone gave me. (Unsuccessful, need to get an impeller for the 2000 Millennium - I believe this filter was discontinued.)
He tested the water from two of my tanks and gave me his undivided attention. Needless to say, I am willing to give that store my business over a PetCo or PetSmart.
So, have anyone of you ever traded their fish in? My husband wanted to flush him and I started thinking of getting him several females in his species so that I could breed him...but...1)I don't want to wait till the females get as big as him and 2) I don't want anymore aggressive fellows like him. I feel badly but it would allow me to finally have more than 1 fish in that tank. Your thoughts?
Thanks, everyone.
