| | Fish Addict | My fish would eat each other in a heartbeat if only they could get at each other and fit one another into their mouths... somehow I don't feel any guilt at eating a totally different species when they go around chowing down on their own caviar and offspring (especially when it's a spawn I really really want... grrr)
Plus main ingredient in most fish foods... fish. I doubt they're going to judge my eating habits! |

| | Fish Keeper | I'm fine eating fish, its just catching 'em that I don't like, seeing them actually alive is different than seeing them deepfried and breaded... |

| | Fish Addict | The funniest catching fish story happened last summer while I was taking a Field Ecology course. We were practicing a bunch of different sampling techniques for fish, and one of them was gill netting. So we set the nets out overnight, and next morning (disgustingly early like every morning there... 'twas an intense course!) went to see what we had caught and to release them. Most of the fish were in fine shape and swam off no problem, a few had to be resuscitated, though, so were rocked gently back and forth in the water to push water over their gills. All but one, a good sized walleye, made a full recovery and off they went. Being practical folk, however, the walleye that didn't make it was gutted on the spot after death was declared and made a tasty addition to dinner!
lol, very little guilt when you did all in your power to save the fish! Just preventing waste of a perfectly good fish... |

| | Fish Bum | no problem eating fish of meat of any kinds, apart from lamb, which is all bits... i love fishing for pike, its such a thrill. generally we throw the fish back, cause i would never eat a fish from a dirty lake. and pike look completely different to any fish in my tank. try fitting a 20 pound pike into a 30 gallon! lol |

| | Fish Keeper | The only kind of fish I eat is tuna...and not very often It wasn't because I had fish, but I just don't like it. I like meat, just not fish/seafood. |

| | Fish Keeper | I don't eat fish because it's icky, but I wouldn't have any problem with it. Eating salmon or bass is entirely different from eating Tinfoil Barbs and Betas because they're entirely different species. It's like the difference between eating pigs and eating dogs, their only commonality is their respective kingdoms.
I also wouldn't have a problem with killing my own food, I'd would eat just chicken (I don't even like beef and pork much to begin with...). I'd even do it the classic way; keep the chickens until they stop laying eggs, then eat the chicken. Yum. |

| | Fish Keeper | Our aquarium isn't far from the dining room table. Whenever we eat fish, I always imagine that the fish in our aquarium are feeling all horrified and betrayed! |

If the grocer sold dog or cat meat I'd try it, but they carry beef, pork, poultry, and fish... so that's what I eat. |
