| Need input.. thinking of donating patch to my sons 1st grade class.... I am seriously thinking of donating Patch (our toad), and his belongings to my sons 1st grade class. I can send him crickets, spring water, etc via my son and go clean his home up when needed.
I think it would be a good learning experience for the kids... what do you all think? |

| I will have to talk it over w/ the school first, I haven't asked her yet. But there are classes that have fish tanks, turtles, bunnies, etc so I am sure that she will go for it. Especially since I will offer to do the upkeep.
Patch is such a calm toad, that he likes being held. (not to mention hes the only toad I can pick up w/o getting pee'd on) |

Anything to ad to their learning experience. Last year in kindergarden they spent so much time learning about different animals, my son ended up being obsessed w/ the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. He still loves it, Shark Week was a big hit at our house for him. |

Lately we've been watching any show on there. There was a show about vultures...I didn't realize there was so many species of them. Ugly things. |

| I think it would be a great idea and learning experience for the kids. My sons teachers in the past have always had different pets in class and he has loved learning about all of them. He still talks about his kindergarten teacher bringing in her pet goat and he is going into 3rd grade this year |

| Allie, have you seen a turkey buzzard? Thats an ugly bird.... we have them around here, I accidently hit one w/ my jeep a month ago, it flew into the side mirror... YUCK!
Darlene, wyatt is getting pumped up for show and tell already. He said he was going to take our dog molly first... then the cat... I dunno how he will show off the fish but he plans to...
I remember in school having diffferent class pets, and one bio class in jr high we raised chickens from eggs that was so much fun. |

I think Patch would make a great pet for all the little kids! I've picked up toads before and they aren't acctualy slimey. Are you going to give up the tank? |

| They aren't slimy, its a chemical they excrete to fend of predators. They are bad for peeing on people when being picked up. Patch is the only toad I have ever picked up that doesn't pee when picked up. |

| OH yea, I am going to give up the tank w/ him, it was a cheap 10g tank and I don't feel comfortable reusing it for fish. |
