Decisions About Getting a New Tank

I have had in my mind for a couple of months now that I am ready to add another tank to the house. I have been avidly searching Craig's list and have passed over several 55s because I have in my head that I could put a 100 in the space that I have.

However, I think that I have come across a deal on a 55 that I may not be able to pass up. It is a 55 gallon with the stand, filter and covers with lights. It also comes with the decor that is in the tank. She is asking $100.

I just don't know what to do. I am ready for a new tank now, but part of me wants to hold out for the 100 gallon which I am sure I could get around Christmas. Help!!

Here is a pic of the tank on Craig's List:

Will you have room for both?
It's a great deal, but if the 100g is a sure thing, I might wait.
Or sell the 55 when you get the 100.

Whenever I decide to upgrade, I am going to move my 30 gallon to my bedroom. I am thinking that maybe I should get the 55 now, and then when I can get the 100 I could move the 55 to my bedroom and give the 30 back to my brother. He will probably have bought a house by then and will be ready to set a tank up again. He is just renting right now and has decided not to get a tank back up and running untill he is settled somewhere. When he gave the 30 to me this past Spring, it was with the understanding that it was on long term loan...

I am really thinking I am going to. My hubby's birthday is Friday, I am trying to figure out how I can convince him that it would be a great birthday present for him!

Okay, so *IF* I get it, here is my first thought about stocking. Would this work?

3 Angels
6 Cories
1 BN Pleco
8 Cherry Barbs

I figure that at 54" of fish. Would they all play nicely together? Would the cherry barbs end up being snacks for the angels?

If/when I get the tank, I will start another thread about stocking, but I was just curious what you thought...

I just told the lady that I want it! I offered her $75 but of course I am willing to pay the $100, I just figure it never hurts to ask...
