| update on the one eyed toad I don't even remember how long ago it was when I found this little guy, but I was out today cleaning the cat box (I always spray it out after emptying it and bleach it.. well when I grabbed the water hose I looked down and there was "patch" apparently he has been living under our house all this time (we first saw him about 3 mths ago I am guessing) It was so cool to see he was still alive..he even let me and my oldest son pet him. I just hope my other child the frog stomper doesn't see him.. |

| is it missing an eye from an injury, or from mutation? it's sad that mutations are becoming more common, and they're used as an indicator of pollution.
Btw: my toads used to escape and follow me around...but i'm thinking that's because they were expecting me to spontaneously begin dispensing crickets.
duct tape fixed that. |

duct tape fixed that. | he has a scar on his eye where it was, so I am sure it was an injury. that was how I id'ed our toad as patch.
where he was there are a ton of crickets hanging around |

| Well, my husband had a one eyed toad siting today! He as working on the house, and weedeating. Luckily he saw the toad first, he almost weed-wacked him.
He told me he put him in a safer spot for me in a little area behind the house. Its amazing that he is getting involved w/ the one eyed toad watching lol..
I just hate that I wasn't home to see the little fella |

| Yea, I named him Patch, (I love Days of our Lives) so that was the only name I could come up w/ for a one eyed toad... I actually named him about 2 weeks ago, and when I ask if someones seen Patch the whole family looks at me strage except my 6 year old... After my husband found him yesterday though he will reconize the name. I think he didn't belive we really had a one eyed toad living so close to the house. |

| Thats so cool! The tadpoles in our garden pond decided that they wanted to be frogs so there are all these itty bitty toads hopping about. We are constantly chasing them back into the pond area so they dont get squashed. they are so cute |

| Hey! He can join the animal pirate crew.
Right now they've got an ARRRRRdvark, an ARRRRRmadillo, and a catepillARRRRR!
Patch doesn't have an ARRRR sound in his name, but he's got something they don't: A PATCH! |

| Well, patch now has a new home, I moved him before my husband covered up the hole he was going in and out of under our house. There are some old buildings where the family stores canned food and I took him out there and put him in a hole under one of the buildings. There isn't anything but frogs and toads out there, we usually find a lot around that building so he won't be lonely.
I did have to hold him for a while though and play w/ him before I took him over there, and stompy pants didn't do anything but pet him, my husband actually asked me to move him. to beat it all when I tried to put him down he kept grabbing on to my hands, hes def a pet! He even hopped up on my older sons legs. I guess I am going to have to get a good pic of patch and post it. |

(of coarse when I first starting dating my husband my inlaws and us went on a fishing trip, my mil couldn't get over me baiting my own hook, she said I just seemed to girly to do stuff like that. They learned I was a country girl fast)
Even my fil that was there was helping w/ ideas of where to put him. |

Of coarse his study of Limenology has come in handy w/ learning the nitrogen cycle, etc. We used to go on walks and he could name out all the trees we saw, etc. Plus there is a pond where they stocked frogs, etc in it if I am remembering correctly. He is also a big wild bird freak its cool to see a bird in the back yard and he can name it, and tell you about it. |
