I am always finding frogs outside, tree frogs, bull frogs, and toads where we live (close to a good sized pond in a cow feild)
I will catch them long enough to show my kids then turn it loose where I found it, my mil thought she would take them out frog searching this past weekend... they found a small bull frog and as soon as my 2 year old got to pet it and she put it down, he stomped on it and killed it!
I don't get it because he is always saying "froggie!!" and he loves them, we will have to work on his frog stomping, we have some frogs around our house that my husband the big wildlife man says are going endangered, so we always try to move them to safety if they are in the driveway, etc...

I had the same thing happen with my Grandson He loves bugs and always is looking for them when he was 2 he would find one and kill it But he grew out of it, now he likes to keep them in a critter keeper for a while to watch them but releases them the next day

it does happen. when i was little we would have a blow up pool in the back yard. i was playing in it with a little tree frog. well i went and showed mom in tears this little squished tree frog. i said "I loved him to hard".
no i dont remember the story but have heard it enough.
