| Sorry to hear you lost her.. we've been breeding Mollies for a while now, and while there's one school of thought that you should move expecting females to a nursery tank, we noticed that netting out a pregnant female, more often than not, is too traumatic for her and tends to lead to deformed fry or still-born.
We put more plants along with ornaments with hollows to allow: (a) the pregnant mom to have her fry, and then be able to hide from overly frisky males, to recover.. and (b) the fry to have sufficient hiding places to avoid being eaten until we could remove them to their own nusery tank, usually the morning after their birth. |
