| LOL ... . Well, CNN is broadcasting the Mars expedition intertwined with other news, so that's why . Science channel is now running some other program about future manned missions to Mars (imagine when it somes to that!). Later at 11:00 EST Science Channel should resume the broadcast on the current mission to Mars, hopefully with more pictures (so far I've only seen the edge of Phoenix and some sandy floor of Mars). |

| I'm a little disappointed that the program at 11:00 on Science Channel was just a repeat of the earlier broadcast . I thought they'd have a continuing coverage from the event. Anyway ... we'll probably have interesting pictures and more info going public in the next couple of days . |

| Thanks Cory ... LOL ... why didn't I think to look for the photos online?
The photos look ... very similar to previously taken photos of Mars, lol. I'm hoping they'll have them in color? Also ... I'd love to see some blue or while in them! (Indicating frozen water ... because blue water would be liquid water and there's no liquid water there as far as we know.) |

| I don't mind that they landed.. I disposed all evidence of the Martians when I 'accidentally' destroyed the planet.
Really, that's pretty cool. |

| Absolutely . I love astronomy and all that kind of stuff . This will never happen during my lifetime, but I hope human species will one day be able to travel the space, other stars, our entire galaxy, and other galaxies ... just imagine if we could do that! I believe it's possible ONE STEP AT A TIME. It gives me goose bumbs just thinking about all the possibilities. That is, we'll be able to do all this (in some hundreds or thousands of years) IF and ONLY IF humans don't destroy themselves with nuclear weapons first - and something tells me it will be very difficult for the world leaders and governments to "resist" . To waste such a wonderful future ahead of us and to destroy our only home planet Earth is a shame of unimaginable and unexplainable proportions. |

Right now, flights into Earth's orbit are only for the richest people in the world, not for us regular folks (unless you're terribly rich, lol). I think it will be a very looooooong time before space flight for ordinary civilians becomes (1) available and (2) affordable. For now, this is just a dream for most of us . |

| Ya' know, when I was a little kid, the Apollo missions were winding down, and the shuttles came into being in my late teens-early twenties. I had this wild dream that there would be a mass exodus to the Moon and Mars, and Earth would end up almost empty of mankind. Seemed to fizzle out. I hope this rekindles the publics interest.
Dangit you kids, git off my lawn! |
