Attention Cichlid Lovers

The world-renowned cichlid authority, Ad Konings will be doing one of his talks at the ASW meetings for the weekend of May 24, 25. http://www.asw.ca/ I thought I would let people know this a little before cause this way they can plan air line tickets, hotel rooms, etc. just so they can come and see Ad in person. If you want more info on it, just let me know and I will do my best to answer the questions.

Oh my gosh! I would love to go. Too bad its in Canada. I would love it if he came to Cali. You are a lucky guy to get to go and see him speak and maybe you can pick up some nice fish at the auction.

Mwhahahahaha I know I'm very special. I heard that the lake is his aquarium, so he doesn't have a glass tank. But I plan on getting myself some really nice fish.

He's going to be at the ACA(American Cichlid Association) 2008 in Atlanta Georgia July 17-20. The ACA is being hosted by The Atlanta Area Aquarium Association.
Enjoy your meeting Tom and then tell us all about it.

I am going to try my best to be there. According to my husband I am too much of a fish-head even for him, he read a few pages in Konings book and hasn't touched it in a long time. Myself... I drag it out as much as possible for reference. I will prob be going to this one alone... I don't care though... THis is going to be cool!!

I think I need to edit the reply to say '2 times a day' instead of '2 times a week'.

Yea, that sounds like me actually.. when its something like that and I want to go to it I will annoy him to death... I tried the lady-like mentioning and hinting for lets see know... going on 8 years now it don't work... I have to bug him about stuff, and just come out and say we are going. Now what to do w/ our 2 children those 3 days? lol

Couldn't they have a trip to their grandparents? lol

The weekend is just next week, so if there is anyone going, I will see you there.

That would be great if my mother didn't own a resturant and could keep them the whole time, and my husbands mother was off on Thursdays as well as fri, sat, and sun... (we might just have to be there on fri, sat, and sun if we go w/o the kiddos).
I wish it was on my mils week in july where she gets the whole week off vac.

Have fun this weekend for all those going in Canada!!

My kids are 2 and 6.. so nope... lol And if I left my husband w/ them.. the state would condem the house by the end of the weekend, seriously! He can't handle one day alone w/ the kids, thats why he insist on working 2 jobs and me working part time and being more of a stay at home mom. I still fear that one day the kids will have me tied to a tree setting fire to my feet... I am putting my 6 year old in boyscouts and football this summer just for us getting out of the house and him disapline... football signups are may 31st I can't wait. (tallness and shoulder width he towers over even the 1st graders going into 2nd, hes going to be a challenge to the other kids)
they mind me better outside the home?

Wow, that's kinda funny that the house would go to havoc if you were gone for a day. lol

you should see it... my husband fits the profile of the "questions asked of 2nd graders" "who is the boss of the family?" "mommy, because she works at work and home, and dad works at work and sits at home"
Honestly though, anyone that worked as much as him, no wonder he don't do housework... I don't expect him to do much besides get a dish to the sink and clothes to the hamper. But the kids run amuck when hes alone w/ them.... its kind of like leaving peter griffin from family guy home alone w/ the kids.... seriously!

Well don't worry, when you get older, you can start acting like that and your kids will have to deal with it. It's a vicious cycle. lol
