I dunno; I was BORN in the 80s, so I was literally a child of the 80s, but I don't remember half that stuff. I watched Transformers and Ninja Turtles and had the action figures, but I don't know what a Doozer is, nor Max Headroom or a "whammee"...I guess I was more a child of the 90s because I hardly have any memories from the 80s.

A doozer...hahahaha.. ahahah. My wife has this family story it's hilarious.

I never knew wtf they were, but when they lived in wyoming, her dad came home with 2 doozers for her and her brother. He spilt it and fell while walking up the stairs. As the story goes, you never saw a boy cry and try to salvage a doozer as much as he did that day.

Great post!

I had completely forgotten about the Doozers, until I read this thread and it all came back to me. Gobo, Red, and Wembley all really enjoyed munching on their constructions, if I remember correctly.

Trapper Keepers were the bomb, and remember Alex P. Keaton worshipping at the altar of Reagan?

How about Rough Riders and Stompers, those little AA battery powered 4x4 trucks that were all the rage for about 4 months back in about 83 or 84?

Wait... doozers from fraggle rock? aahahahha even funnier. Evidently in the midwest, Doozers are this huge specialty drink or something, bigger than a route 66 from sonic.

Man the fact it was 2 different things completely blew past me. Talk about feeling old.

Cabbage Patch Kids...

Eyeglasses with really, really, really big lenses. I mean, huge.

Doing the moonwalk in the hallway between classes.

GIJoe and the GoBots (from planet Gobotron).

Gallagher's melon-smashing was still new enough to be funny.

Rear-Wheel Drive Sedans.

Yea I remember my mother telling me when I was starting high school that the bell bottoms and her old high school stuff would be in that year.... I laughed and say that'll be the day when I wear that stuff....
Then when I went to my grandmothers a month later i was digging my aunts clothes out of the attic so I could wear here old clothes.... I still have one of her old sweaters...

lol.. i hate the 70s.. and some things from the 80s like giant bug-eyed sunglasses. I loved the 80s, but I like moving on and hate recycled fads. I notice TV has gotten so un-original that they're recycling old shows now, like Knight Rider.

I watched the first episode too.. or should I say the Ford commercial? Didn't bother to watch anymore, imo it really was crappy, dull and a cheap ripoff of a classic show turned into a pathetic 2 hour commercial.

Me too. Tho I was a teen in the 80s.
What about those lovely bubblegum jeans who were so tight you needed to lay down to put them on. A can of hair spray used in a week wasn't rare. Slouch socks and harem pants.
