| Rural Area Medical... I remember someone talking about it They are actually doing the 3rd one in are area coming up soon, I am actually impressed with how well it does turn out here for the people here. There is a huge turn out and a lot of people that get help. They get checkups, etc.... mamograms... all kinds of medical attention that is unaffordable for many people and free dental work. In my area in tn, and the border of ky where the people are numerously unemployeed and w/o insurance this is wonderful!
Just so happens too it comes on the same weekend that they have the "vaccination" clinic for animals... I will be taking advantage for that, you have to pay for that one.. just the cost of the medicine... we round up our outside pets and our kitty and go up there.. you have to wait a while.. but its like 30 dollars for all your pets.... |

Knoxville area.. what part are you from? You dont have to give exact just round about area..
My family (they live in AR) does the clinics for animals all the time.. I think a rabies shot cost like 5 bucks a pop.. Like you said there is a small wait but its worth it as the cost at the vet is about 3 times as much.. |

| we live in claiborne co.. way out in the country... literally w/ cows in the backyard...
I love the vet clinics they do! It saves us a bunch of money! As much as my children love our outside pets I am so scared of rabies, etc w/ the skunks, possum, and coyote that come in the yard...
My jack russell I had a few years ago literally had a skunk back right up in his face on his tie out, he was an inside dog just out on his chain to pee at 4am and the skunk found him... I just heard him barking and cracked up when I saw him! He was terrified... the poor thing.. luckily he didn't get sprayed...
Its normal to have a coyote in the driveway at night though, they won't even move for your car to come in the driveway... so the rabies vaccine is all so important! |

I always do rabies every year no matter what. So far this year all the skunks ive seen have been dead in the road.. Bears are already a problem here.. which means its gonna be a long summer as far as critters are concerned LOL |

| So far no bears here...lol knock on wood.... but we did have a beautiful Elk back last fall no worry about rabies w/ those.. I got loads of pics of him then twra came and got it because it attacked a mans cattle herd (or so they said) I honestly think they were afraid some redneck would try to kill it.
But our big prob is the little critters in the field and then coyote... they scare the out of me! |

We use to drive cades cove to try and see the bears but now its just as easy, and way less traffic, to stay home and wait for them to come to us
I own property in another state that is wooded and its always fun to go and sit and just watch to see what comes out of the woods to check us out. |

| I hope we don't have a dry summer this year, my husbands family grows a garden big enough to feed them, his grandfather and us for the summer, fall and winter every year... Last year really bit! I missed my freash green beans and corn! They don't use pesticides, so even better for us!
We all live on one big country block... lol... three houses in a row... its really convenient to have a babysitter next door....
I just hated the dry dry summer it was miserable! If this spring is an indication of this summer though we will be okay. (then they can't limit our water use I was so scared they would start that, they did on my mother in ky and she snuck to "top" her inground pool off once a week.... ) I can see it now, they will get me for my massive amounts of water changing in my fishtanks... |

I also have a pool and still had to top it off every now and then. I really did my best to not waste to much but the pool had to have enough water for the pump to run.
I dont think we have had as much rain as you have in your neck of the woods. Most of the weather systems seem to go north of us which would hit you. If you end up with more rain then you need send it our way LOL |

We are in the little "bowl" the mountains create.. Its great in the winter time.. we get very little snow.. but it also keeps the rain away at the times when we really need it.. |
