| Have you ever used aquarium water to water your houseplants? just wondering if this would be good for them since fish waste is a common plant fertilizer. |

| I use it all the time....just be aware that it is best on plants that you want green growth from, it may be too high in nitrogen for some plants you want to encourage to flower.
When I used it on African violets, it produced deformed leaves, and no flowers....It should also make great water for your garden, if you want to conserve and reuse your water...... |

| I run the hose outside into the flower garden when I siphon and the flowers love it and I conserve water too. Can't beat that

| I use it on indoor houseplants all year 'round..in summer I use it for potted plants on the patio deck. Any extra after watering goes in the potty near the living room |

| Yes. I've had the same issue with African violets that Susitna had. African violets have pretty particular requirements, so they aren't the greatest candidates for aquarium water fertilization. Other flowering plants have done well, however, with aquarium waterings, and the gardens close to my door are very healthy. |

| It's how I water all my plants (3 Spider plants, Dumb Cane, and a Shamrock.) They all seem to thrive on it, and my Shamrock seems to bloom constantly. Noticed a decrease in the buildup of salts on the surface of the potting soil as well. It's still there, but doesn't show up as fast. |

| Yep, in deference to my septic tank and our summer outdoor water restrictions, the tank water goes right into the foundation shrubbery outside my front door.
My back is suffering quite a bit from all the water changes during my bout with ICH this past week... I think I'm going to try that hose out the front door idea... |

| Hi!
Well, one of my other hobbys is houseplants. I use it on all my plants... Diffenbachia (Dumb cane - on my desk!), Dwarf umbrella plant (On my desk too), a Bromeliad (Desk again...), Croton (Joseph's oat - in the planter on my cupboard) Ivy (With the Croton), Ficus elastica decora (with the Croton), Peace lily (Not anymore I don't! That's in the planter on my hearth), Asparagus fern (Hearth) and Ficus 'Belize'. They also get a weak dose of Baby Bio, and they thrive! The ficus's are making new leaves, and the others are doing great. The ivy has really taken of! The Ficus 'belize' is still a tot, but thanks to sharing Malachai's big lamp it's going great. It's not goign to be a tot for long... I also us it in my Cactus garden, which is brilliant. |

It takes about 15 minutes off water changes because I can move 4 buckets in one go, so that's 2 trips instead of 7.
(but they go into the sump pump, the aquariums are in the basement...no way i'm lugging those upstairs!)
It helps the back a little too, carrying things really strains those fine stabilizing muscles. |

| Certainly. I always try to reuse or recycle. And the first time I did a water change in my new 20g I nearly overflowed the 5g bucket. (Dummy! I was used to a 10g tank, and failed to remember that 25% of 20 is 5. Even 1/3 of the 10g won't fill that bucket.) So, cup by cup, I watered the closest potted plants until the level was low enough to roll the bucket to the back door for its usual dump outside. (Except my orchids; they're my babies and I won't experiment on them.) |
