Aquascaping

I always enjoy seeing pictures of every ones tanks and I am truly in awe of a lot of them.

How did everyone get their inspiration? Pictures? Other people? Kits? Your own imagination?

I'm really interested in knowing, as my skills are sorely lacking.

I think if my water conditions weren't good, my fish just might move out or redecorate the tank themselves.

I just buy pretty looking plants mostly... Then I put them where I think they will do the best and cover the most equipment after they grow in...

My tanks are typically heavily planted on the sides and very sparse in the middle. The middle I save for the fish. I don't do "center pieces" or anything like that.

My inspiration comes from God to be honest. I figure if he can make an ocean, river, lake, etc rely on it's own system to complete itself I figure I should do my best to replicate what he has created. So far it's worked out very well and I am working on removing all bio media from my new tank now and going with just mechanical filtration since the plants tak care of the bio filtration for me. And lets face it... They do a better job!! LOL!!

Kinda long winded but thats what does it for me..

No, it's really not, somewhere on this site, one of my first posts, I think is a picture of my 10g, it's changed little since then (oh please don't look for it). I add things, they don't look right, and I take them out, but my fish are happy and I guess that's what counts.
I really don't have an eye for it.

But I really am interested in how people come up with their different concepts.
