actually my tetras are really wimpy and hang out in the plants rather than out in the open like my betta.. i have yet to see them go after anything other than food. u cant generalize every fish. each is different and acts how if feels not how a book says its going to act.

Hi!

I think I know why your tets do that. Now, you have Glowlights and 1 X-ray, right? Now, in small number tetras become scared, and feel the need to hide. With a territorial fish out at the front, and in such small number they'll decide it's probably not worth risking it. Not typical tetra behaviour - but you said it yourself you can't generalise. Not to be a perfectionist - but my only resource of fish is the internet! Mainly this site - I find it's much better to have lots of opinions on a subject thrown together than just 1 person's experience.
