Betta? and community?

Hi
I've been looking at the "your fish tank" section in the Fishlore website and many people have been putting betta's into their community aquariums. I was wondering if I could too?
My stock it:
5 zebra danios
3 bronze corydorous catfish
&& 2 sailfin mollies [male 1x and female x1]
Thanks
e

Hey what's up? i had a betta in a 5g for some time, i have never tried them in a community tank, i think it is not a good idea, because they get stressed and frustrated in a community tank, they start flaring their gills and sometimes attack bigger peaceful fish! i will suggest u keep a betta in a 5g planted tank all alone! the fish will be happy and the tank will also look nice!

Everyone has the right to stock their tanks as they see fit, but I HIGHLY, COMPLETELY recommend that a Betta Splendens NEVER be put in a community tank. For every tank that it works, 100 don't and a dead betta results. When it does work, it's a delicate balance that can be upset suddenly and violently. Corys are ok with Betta, but Danios are fin nippers and mollies can be rough on bettas too. The most personality comes out when a Betta Splendens has his/her own tank. That's their instinct, their nature and we fight nature when we force a fish that's solitary to be community. Betta Splendens aren't the only fish that make poor community fish, but of the fish that are poor community fish, they're the most commonly attempted.
