| Everyone has the right to stock their tanks as they see fit, but I HIGHLY, COMPLETELY recommend that a Betta Splendens NEVER be put in a community tank. For every tank that it works, 100 don't and a dead betta results. When it does work, it's a delicate balance that can be upset suddenly and violently. Corys are ok with Betta, but Danios are fin nippers and mollies can be rough on bettas too. The most personality comes out when a Betta Splendens has his/her own tank. That's their instinct, their nature and we fight nature when we force a fish that's solitary to be community. Betta Splendens aren't the only fish that make poor community fish, but of the fish that are poor community fish, they're the most commonly attempted. |
