| Bucketfuls I hate doing water changes with a bucket.....I can't wait to start using the python once I get the missing piece. I have to do 25% of 135 gallons of water. Which is 34 gallons of water. Which is about 9 buckets. Then multiply that times two. 18 buckets for refilling. Then add about 1 more for the evaporation. So I have to carry 19 bucketfuls back in forth, outside, inside, from the tank, to the tank. Its such a hassle. And now I have my mom yelling: "You only have to change once a month if the water is fine! Thats what Dino said!". Well she is wrong and I keep telling her 25% a week but she just won't listen.......oh welll |

| It hooks right up to your kitchen faucet, or any that you can adjust the temperature on. Mine is on my kitchen sink, because all my tanks are within 25 feet of there! So I just start the water flow, hold a thermometer under the water and when it is close to the tank water temperature, I switch the switch and in it goes. I am on a well so don't have to condition the water, but from what I understand just dump the conditioner in the tank at the same time the water is going in and all is fine!
They have hose that is 50 feet long also if you need longer tubing. |

| You can order a 75 foot hose also. You have the cold water on as you are vacuuming/drain, then, as sustina said, you switch to filling. Have you ever had one of those huge water guns that you fill by connecting to your outside faucet to fill? It is something like that. In one position (down), (this attachment is called a pump) you are vac./drain, there is also a switch to stop a sec. if you accidentally vac. up one of the fish. While it is in the drain position after draining, you set the water to the temp. you want, then you switch to fill (twist and up)! I have to have the 50ft., so far it has been great. The pressure can be a little strong, so be careful. |

| Hi!
Thanks, Jsalemi! Do you know if they'd ship it to the UK? Is that the only place you can get them? This could be the answer to my problems! |

Since I run on a generator, and to pump water have to keep the generator on, I usually use my syphon to drain any tanks I am going to change water in, WITHOUT any water running. If you just start the syphon, it runs without having to waste cold water.
Then when I have the level of water where I want for the changes that day, I start the generator, and pump the water back in. It seems strange to explain all this, but I thought after the comment by Debbie, it is worth letting people know that if you are concerned with water conservation, it is possible to drain your tank without running water for an hour or more (as in my case) just to keep the syphon going. |

| Yep, works good either way. I just love not having to hall the buckets of water! What a nightmare. Esp. with a dog that is always shadowing me . My carpet has had its share of being more than wet! |

| Im on mains water ,but in my area we have higher than average chlorine in the water.
Would it be ok to treat the water after the tank is refilled and fish exposed to the chlorine ? |

| Not sure, but I add the water conditioners in the stream as I'm filling. I use the python for filling. |
