Bubble Wand Needed?

I have a 75 gallon tank with a Penguin 350 Bio Wheel Filter and wanted to know if I also need an additional oxygen source, such as a bubble wand? I currently have 4 Tiger barbs, 4 Serpae Tetras and 2 Gold Mollies. I will probably be adding new fish in about two weeks, for a total of about 15 of similar type community fish. I am new to the site and would like some advice. Thanks!

Welcome to Fishlore.

Unless you have an unusually tall, narrow tank, your fish shouldn't need any oxygen supplementation. The Bio Wheel adds a good amount of surface area to the water as it runs through the filter, and the agitation of it hitting the water surface helps more.

If, however, you notice your fish gasping at the surface and you don't have any ammonia or nitrites, and don't have more than 10ppm nitrates, then there is probably an oxygen deficiency, in which case, ignore everything I've just said and get a bubble wand/stone and an air pump. This shouldn't be necessary, however.

Welcome to Fishlore!

I don't think it's totally 'needed', but I think a bubble wand or 2 in there would add to the tank and many fish love to play in the bubbles. If you get flexible bubble wands, they can be shaped around things how you like to create fun looks.
