| Ouch! My finger hurts! I cut my finger quite deeply when cooking yesterday (fainted and all, was fun, hi hi hi . The in-laws were there...). Anyways, I never hurt myself, so it's kind of an entertaining experience, LOL.
All this to say, pleaaaaaaase don't make me type any of the following letters: r, t, g, v, b, or f! I had to laugh when I was replying to someone's post at my usual break-neck speed (I was a secretary for a while, to support my studies), and I heard myself say ouch every time one of the dreaded letter had come up and I'd forgotten about my finger... Doh! |

| I got a new anitbiotic the other day, that has pain meds in it also.. Called 'Triple antibiotic EXTRA' first aid/pain relief ointment! It worked, but then my booboo was not on a finger...that can really hurt. Do you always faint when you see blood?
You have our permission to type everything without those letters, and let us figure it out! It might be fun.....I mih e un? OK maybe not!
Get well soon.... |

| The only finger problem I had is when a turtle bit the front of my fourth finger next to the pinky on my right hand. My fingerprint used to be loops now its circles on that finger. I laugh about it now but it really hurt. |

First thing my mother in law said - as I lay panting on the sofa was: 'what about when she gets kids?'. She was deadly serious. AAAAAAAH, the Dutch (they tend to talk of you when you're in the room...)! Quote:

I was watching this suspence movie - OK, admittedly not the greatest of scientific sources - and I swear the forensic expert said that this guy had cut off the skin at the tip of his fingers to change his finger print, but that this was a useless method as they regrew exactly the same patterns. I guess you have first-hand evidence that in fact you can! Cool. Quote:

| I thought about that, actually, as it was happening: I thought 'I could never be a chef'. Imagine fainting every 2 seconds while preparing your stew! Quote:

Am not big on attention so I was trying to be discreet. It worked, as my mother in law is the world's most insensitive person. She just carried right on with the conversatoin. She's very sweet in her own way, but very much a no-nonsense sort of person. So that suited me fine as I hate it when people fuss. The whole thing was really funny, really. Here's me whispering to my husband to come over, and telling him to bring me to the sofa discreetly, and him looking at my finger and going 'uh hoooo. Erm, honey? we need to clean that' and me, well, going cold on him. All this in a whisper! Quote:

Carol | Wow! That is one respectable wound! You did faint, right? My goodness. I don't think I'd wake up until the stitches are gone. Verrrrry impressive. Quote:

| Yep, you're definitely more like my mom, then. She can't believe what a bunch of girlie girls my dad and I are. She gives herself some quite impressive injuries, and she STILL has to take care of us because we've fainted seeing her wounds, instead of calling the DOC!
I really think that the 'don't be daft' approach is best actually! Can't stand it when people make a fuss. Am more like: "don't mind me. Am just here on the floor. Just fainted. Nothing bad. I'll come through.". Of course there's the fact that I fainted in the first place, but hey, can't be perfect! Quote:

Haha......5 years ago my dad was in intensive care. He was VERY ill. I shocked one of the (fab) doctors on day one as when he had us in the office, telling us he may die any minute but that they were doing every thing they could to save him i said 'well if he does survive i'm gonna kill him for putting us through this'!!!! Of course i was nervous and joking but the doc's face was a picture.
It's amazing the number of nurses i work with that hate the sight of blood!!! DUH!!!! |

| You should look into a cutting glove. They work pretty well. We use them at work, and everyone has nice knives. I'm currently saving up to buy this, and I wouldn't dare use it without a cutting glove on...I like my fingers too much
Sorry that happened! Glad you didn't lose any appendages, though. |
