try either live bearers or tets. Most aren't aggressive. They are active and colorful.

Lyretail mollies are beautiful, IMO. Also, another option if you don't mind spending a bit more is to get some rainbows...I have a few of different species and they are really beautiful active fish.

Boesmani rainbows are my favorite, but I've put links here to the few types I have, and there are a ton more too...

Out of the three you listed, Cody, I'd have to say I prefer guppies. Remember that if you go with livebearers, either get only one gender or be prepared for them to multiply.

Guppies are cool too <3 They are fun, active, peaceful, and colorful. Breeding guppies is fun too I really enjoy it.

The two I have I ordered from liveaquaria.com If you decided to get them from there, you won't know if you are getting males of females because they are so hard to sex at a juvenile stage. Mine began to color up after about 3-4 weeks.

My LFS in Lafayette also has them for sale and theirs are closer to full maturity. Rainbows are very active and social(at least this has been my experience). That picture on liveaquaria.com is a bit misleading...I've never seen a Boesmani rainbow that vibrant before, and I'm sure that is a show specimen or something. The yellow is very pronounced on Boesmani's, but the blue it not nearly as vibrant as that picture would lead you to believe.

I'm almost positive your LFS would be able to order these for you if you were interested. My eveperience with my LFS is that they will try their best to get me anything I want.

I also got a turquoise rainbow from my LFS, which are just like the Boesmani, except they are completely blue...not sure if this is a different species or just a color variation.

I've been looking at the Ruby Red Pencilfish (Nannostomus mortenthaleri). At the moment it's quite expensive so I think I'll wait until the prices come down. Other than that, COBetta will be selling some Endler's that I think will go nicely in your 55g.
Just my

Yeah I have Zebra Danios and they will definately put energy into your tank. I have Cherry Barbs too, and they get along great with Zebra Danios.

Considering you can mix glowfish with zebra danios you could get a few and the rest zebra danios if the glowfish suit your taste, they do school together.

I pretty sure Rummy Nose Tetras aren't expensive and they bring a lot of color.

Yes this is what I told my mom why I wouldn't get more glofish for her, not to mention I like regular zebra danios better. I paid 6$ each for mine, though I got them 25%off

Cody, you can probably add angelfish if you wanted to.

Cody, if you don't mind me asking, what would be the budget limit for the new occupants? If you're not sure or would rather not say that's cool
