I talked to my mom and dad today and they agreed that I can set up my 10 gallon acrylic tank for the baby guppies next weekend. I am sooo happy and the good thing is that it will be in my room and not my sisters room so now when I do my homework I can look at both my tanks. YES YES YES I am soo happy.
Now for a lid, that's one thing I don't have and can't buy, I am thinking streching plastic wrap over the top.
Woo another tank, getting deep within the realms of MTS. I use fly wire as a lid at the back of my 17gal tank as the glass lid didn't allow space for the wires of the filter and heater to come out. I just cut it and bent it to size. pretty easy and i suppose lets more oxygen in to the surface as its open
Local glass shop/Home Depot - Get a piece of plexi glass cut to size with a hole just large enough for you to fit your finger so you can lift it off........I'd get it just large enough to fit the inner rim of the top tank trim. You can even modify it to accommodate the filter, heater, etc.......And it looks clean and neat and shouldn't cost but a couple of bucks.
Jon- not sure where you heard that surface oxygen reaches the water......the only way to oxygenate water is to aerate it.
