- Roger King, the driving force behind King World television, which syndicates shows like "Oprah" and "Dr. Phil," died suddenly over the weekend of a stroke at age 63.
- An 85-year-old bottle of scotch was sold at an auction last weekend and fetched a $45,000 top bid.
- A gas station operator in Sherman Oaks, California, says that Britney Spears walked in and just stole a cigarette lighter from him.
- That strike among Broadway stagehands is officially over.
- As far as the TV writers strike, talks broke down on Friday, one side walked out and so it goes on.
- The popular gas station in Wisconsin Monday was the one that accidentally posted gasoline at 32.9 cents a gallon, instead of 3.29. The owners eventually caught on when they noticed people lining up.
- In London, a woman died and left $21-million in her will... to the Chinese restaurant she frequented.
- Elin Nordegren Woods, a model who married golf star Tiger Woods, has received an apology from an Irish magazine that agreed to pay her "substantial" damages after it published fake nude pictures of her during the 2006 Ryder Cup.
- According to a new study from Durand Hospital in Buenos Aires, children's adult risk of developing heart disease and diabetes can be predicted based on their mother's waist size.
- Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison Monday for running a "cruel and inhumane" dogfighting ring. The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback could have been sentenced up to five years.
- Former Happy Days star Scott Baio, and legendary bachelor, finally tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Renee Sloan in a rooftop ceremony at a luxury high-rise Saturday in Los Angeles.
- Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough is single no more. He wed his longtime girlfriend Saturday. Dorough, 34, married Leigh Boniello at St. James Cathedral in a traditional Catholic ceremony.
- A judge issued an arrest warrant for Daniel Baldwin on Friday when the actor didn't show up to court to give a progress report on his drug rehabilitation.
- "Ugly Betty" co-star David Blue was mugged at gunpoint after leaving a wrap party on Friday.

- Al Gore received his Nobel Peace Prize on Monday.
- Critics are calling "There will be blood" the best movie of 2007. It's at least the best movie of the year that I haven't heard of...
- After that pet fiasco, Ellen is trying to build up her image again among animal lovers by rebuilding critter shelters across the U.S.. Works for me.
